Plan B: Part Duex!

Ok, so the plan for flowers is to have ranunculus as the primary flower for our big day; they are my absolute favorite bloom right now! However, it is getting to be late in the season, and knowing whether or not they will be available is proving to be quite the challenge. So, my florist, the wonderfully talented Monica Kau of Signature Bloom made Josh and I samples of possible Plan B bouquets.

Yesterday Josh and I went to Lux Image Agency in Los Gatos for my trial makeup application. We met with the wonderfully talented Jena Perry who will be styling my makeup for the big day! I am so happy with the results, and Josh said I looked “purty.”

Busy as a Bee!

Phew! How time flies! Only 15 more days and still so much to do! So much time has passed and I’ve barely had to time keep you all up to date. So, without further adieu…

My mom, sister and bridesmaids threw me an INCREDIBLE bridal shower at the end of April. I had so much fun! I really couldn’t have desired for more. They took me to Lisa’s Tea Treasures in the Pruneyard. Having my shower at a Victorian themed tea parlor was like making a girlhood dream come true! I really felt like I was in a and Edith Wharton, Jane Austin or Anne Brontë novel. Plus I am a sucker for tea sandwiches. I was surrounded by the people I love and care about and everyone had a great time. It was truly wonderful!

Kat came over to visit me this week, bringing with her two wreaths that I intend to use for decoration the day of. Even Hazel is beginning to get into the wedding spirit!

This weekend I am going home/San Jose, and will be doing the following:

-Going in for a gown fitting

- Getting my pre-wedding hair cut and color (I super excited about that!)

-Meeting our florist

- Going for a trial makeup run

It will be a busy weekend!

Tonight some of the crew are getting together to help Josh and I assemble our wedding favors.

I have the best friends ever. Diana (with the help of her mom!) sent me the instructions to wrap mason jars with wire and ribbon so they can be hung off of shepherd hooks for the wedding ceremony. Mandy helped me late into the night yesterday to assemble them. With a little ingenuity and a lot of love we three created these beauties!

Next week, Jess gets to show off her labeling talents as we assemble all of the favors. I can’t wait!

Spring has arrived in Santa Cruz, and everything for our wedding is starting to come together. The bridesmaids dresses are beginning to take shape (they look awesome!), Josh and I both have our wedding bands, our totally awesome cake topper is being made as we speak, and the flower girl dresses are arriving! Modeling this year’s fashion is the beautiful Ms Emma!

I am so excited I could scream! Isn’t she adorable?!? Now multiply her by four and you get Emma, Katie, Zoe, and Kate! Our wedding is going to be an explosion of cuteness!

It looks like everyone is getting ready for the big day by way of shopping! Everyday a new package from far far away finds its way to my front door. Di and I were both blessed with gifts from Etsy-land yesterday!

For Di, a beautiful pair of “glass slippers…”

For the bride, precious baubles from the watery deep (or Swarovski)…

Also, Josh picked up my wedding band this week! It is sooo beautiful! I can’t stop myself from pulling it out and staring at its loveliness. This is particularly creepy behavior right now since we have been watching the extended Lord of the Ring movies while assembling our invites. I am feeling a bit like Gollum these days….
